Witch Look |Halloween Countdown #4

For this look you will need:
  • Base makeup
  • Bronzer
  • Black eye shadow
  • Purple eye shadow
  • Black eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Dark red lipstick
  • Curling tongs
Makeup
  • Apply your base makeup, and add some bronzer to your cheeks. (Sorry for the lack of pictures. The sun came out, so they all turned out yellow)

  • For the eyes, apply black eye shadow all over your eyelid and blend it out
  • Now take the purple eye shadow and apply it over the black. You might have to apply it quite heavily to make it noticeable. Also apply some under your eye.

  • Use a black eyeliner to line your upper lash line and your waterline
  • Apply mascara

  • And finally, lipstick...

Hair

  • Curl your hair using a curling tongs

  • Turn your head upside down; back comb and basically mess up your hair, trying to create as much volume as possible

And that is the witch look finished! :)

Mermaid |Halloween Countdown #3

Sorry for the delay!

For this look you will need:

  • Your base makeup
  • Silver, turquoise, purple and dark blue eye shadows
  • Silver eyeliner
  • Blue eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Purple lipstick
  • Some mermaid-like hair accessories

Hair

  • This is a very simple hairstyle. Wash your hair at night, and when it's still slightly damp, plait it. Sleep with it like that, and the next morning, when you take the plaits out, you should have wavy hair
  • You can then accessorize with whatever mermaid-y type things you can find :)

Makeup

  • Apply your base

  • Take some silver eye shadow and apply it to your cheekbones, the same way you would with blusher or bronzer. Then take some blue eye shadow and also put that on your cheeks, under the silver

  • For eyes, apply the turquoise eye shadow all over your eyelid

  • Next apply the purple eye shadow to the crease and blend it in
  • Using the blue eyeliner, line your upper lash line, stopping just before the end of your lid. Also line your bottom lashes, just under the waterline
  • Use the silver eyeliner to line your water line, and also to create a wing

  • Add your mascara...

  •  And your lipstick...

  • And you're good to go! :)

Pink Princess |Halloween Countdown #2

For this look you will need:
  • The base makeup that you normally use
  • Pink blusher
  • A pale pink eye shadow
  • A darker pink eye shadow
  • Gold  eyeliner/eye shadow
  • Mascara
  • Pink lip-gloss/lipstick
  • Bobbins and bobby pins

Makeup
  • Apply your base makeup

  • Next apply some blusher to your cheeks. You can apply it fairly heavily, after all it's Halloween :)

  • For the eye makeup, start by applying the paler pink eye shadow all over your eyelid

  • Next, apply the darker pink shadow to the crease and blend it in

  • Apply the gold eyeliner (or eye shadow will work equally well) to your upper and lower lash line and waterline

  • Add mascara...

  • And lip-gloss...

  • And that's the makeup look complete!
Hair
  • Divide your hair into sections (similar to yesterdays style)leaving the front section, about as far as your ears, out and tying the rest of your hair back
  • Pull all your hair across your head, over to one side

  • Take three small pieces of hair from the bottom of the section, and start plaiting. (Sorry for the extreme change in lighting in this picture by the way, the sun came out. I don't actually have dip-dyed blonde hair)
  • Continue the plait, adding pieces of hair as you go

  • When you get to the opposite side of your head, and have used up all the hair, pin the plait down using a bobby pin.
  • Take the rest of your hair down out of it's ponytail. If you want, you could curl/straighten/crimp/whatever you want the part of you hair that's down

  • And that's it. Like yesterday, crowns can be bought in the shops, or made really badly out of cardboard.

See you all tomorrow for another Halloween tutorial :)

Cat Look |Halloween Countdown #1

Hi everyone,

Sorry that my posts have been a bit scarce lately, I've just been really busy. To make it up to you, every day for the next five days I'm going to be posting Halloween themed tutorials, starting with this cat look;

For this look you will need:
  • Whatever base makeup you use (foundation, concealer, etc.)
  • A dark grey eye shadow
  • A shimmery grey eye shadow
  • Black eye shadow
  • Black liquid eyeliner
  • Black pencil eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Nude/Pink lipstick
  • Hair bobbins
  • Bobby pins

Hair
(inspired by Zoella's recent blog post, which can be found at Zoella.blogspot.com)

  • Divide your hair into sections. For the first part you'll need the front bit of your hair, to about where your ear is. You can tie the rest it back to keep it out of the way for the moment.

  • Split the front section of your hair to the far right/left side

  •  Take three pieces of hair from the top of your head; one from the back, one from the middle, one from the front. The section from the front should be from further down, above your eye.
  • Start plaiting, adding sections of hair as you go, until there's none left. Then continue the plait and tie it with a bobbin.

  •  Put the remainder of your hair into a ponytail in the middle of your head. Pin your plait down under the ponytail with bobby pins.

  • Using bobby pins, grab sections of your ponytail and pin them down, the messier the better! If you want to plait some sections before you pin them down, you can do that too.

  • Continue until your whole ponytail is pinned up. The finished product should look something like this:

Makeup
  • Apply whatever base makeup you normally use, if any. For me that's foundation, concealer and powder. You can also apply some blusher or bronzer.
  • The main part of this look is the eye makeup. To begin, put the grey eye shadow all over the lid. You want to apply quite a lot of it, for a very dramatic eye.

  • Add the shimmery eye shadow into the crease of your eyelid and blend it in.

  • Take your liquid eyeliner and line your upper lash line, and also your waterline.

  • Now, using the black eye shadow, reline the area above your lash line. To do the wing, I think it's easiest to close your eye and continue the line that you've done on your eyelid, then make it into a proper wing afterward.

  • Also apply some black eye shadow under your eye, and add mascara.

  • Do your other eye, and then apply your lipstick

Finally, use a black eye pencil to draw yourself a nose and whiskers

  • And that's it! You can buy cat ears in the shop, or if you're feeling really creative you can just make some out of cardboard, like I did.
