I recently decided to grow out my side fringe, and as anyone whose done it before will know, the growing out process can be a pain in the ass. This simple braid/plait has been a bit of a lifesaver over the past few weeks, and is a nice, more interesting way to keep the short bits of my former fringe out of the way than just pinning them back. I thought I'd show you how I do it.
Also note that you don't actually need a fringe/side fringe to do this style, you can just use the front bit of your hair.
- Section off your fringe, or a bit of hair about two inches wide
- For the sake of convenience, you might want to tie the rest of your hair back, like so...
- From that bit of hair, section off a small amount at the top
- Divide it into three parts...
- Start plaiting, and with every twist an extra piece of hair from the front of your section
- Continue plaiting until you run out of hair. It doesn't have to be perfectly neat (mine certainly isn't), if you have a fringe it's likely that little bits will escape
- Depending on what your preference is, you can either pin back your plait with a bobby pin, or just tie it and leave it loose (this looks really good with long hair)
