Saoirse Ronan Wonderland Magazine Tutorial

Hi everyone,
I was scrolling through tumblr a few days ago, and stumbled across some pictures from Saoirse Ronan's recent photoshoot for Wonderland magazine. The photos are absolutely stunning, as is Saoirse's makeup in them, so decided to try and recreate a similar look.

For this look you will need:
  • Base makeup: A light coverage foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturiser; or you can go without foundation and just use concealer and powder
  • Bronzer or a darker powder to use for contouring
  • A plum coloured blush
  • Highlighter
  • Light brown matte eyeshadow
  • Mid brown dark eyeshadow
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Mascara
  • A darksih/plum lip colour
For reference, I used:
  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder
  • Natural Collection Bronzer in 'Sun Shine'
  • Natural Collection Blush in 'Sugar Plum'
  • PS Primark Bronzer (the top shade)
  • MUA Undressed Palette (shades 3 and 5)
  • Elizabeth Arden eyeliner in 'Smoky Black'
  • Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara
  • Revlon Matte Balm in 'Sultry'

  • Start by applying your base makeup. Saoirse doesn't seem to have a lot of foundation on in the photos; you can still see her freckles, so I decided to forego foundation and just use concealer and powder to cover up any blemishes or shininess. If you want to use foundation, I'd recommend a lighter coverage one.

  • Next contour your cheeks by applying some bronzer underneath your cheekbones. Saoirse has some very dark, dramatic contouring in the pictures, and while I did have more bronzer on than is showing up in the photos, I toned mine down a bit for everyday wear.

  • Next apply some blusher above your contouring and blend it out

  • Finally, apply some highlighter to the apples of your cheeks

  • For the eye makeup, start by lightly applying the lighter brown shade all over the lid

  • Apply a small amount of the darker brown, starting at the lashline, and working up towards the crease.

  • Taking a sharp (it makes it easier to get a fine line) black eye pencil, line your upper lashline

  • Smudge some eyeliner underneath your bottom lashes too. Then add your mascara.

  • Finally, add your lipstick. I really tried to pat mine into my lips to create that very matte look.

  • And this is the completed look (aka, me shamelessly posing and doing my best Saoirse Ronan impression) ...
